Independent reporting on companies being paid for their records
You have been building it for years. It just never had a price.
Every day your team writes email, drafts documents, solves problems in chat and logs deals in the CRM. That record of how real work gets done is what AI developers need most. You can now sell your company data, as a de-identified copy, instead of leaving it to sit in your systems earning nothing.
Email and calendar
Usually the largest part of the record, and the main thing our licensing partner looks at.
Documents and files
Working drafts and the firm's know-how, from shared drives and document systems.
Chat and tickets
How your teams solve problems together, in tools like Slack or Jira.
CRM and sales
Commercial history from Salesforce, HubSpot and similar.
Billing and operations
Invoices and the systems that run the practice, such as QuickBooks or NetSuite.
Cash for the business, on your terms
A data license is a fee for a copy of records you already keep. It is not a loan and not an investment in your company.
A few hours of your team's time. Nothing moves until you sign.
Our licensing partner handles the export and the de-identification. Your team approves the scope and signs in. That is it.

Who is paying for this, and why?
AI developers need real examples of how businesses work, and company records are the best source. That demand is why established firms are now being paid for a de-identified copy. Our licensing partner charges no broker fee, agrees systems and date ranges in writing before any export, and has your own team sign in to approved systems rather than hand over passwords.
Independent reporting on companies being paid for their data: Reuters, 5 April 2024; The Next Web, 9 October 2026; and a lawyers' view of what to check first, Legal 500, 6 October 2026.
Will our clients or customers find out?
Our licensing partner does not publish your source records or sell them as a report about your company. Names and contact details are removed or replaced before the copy goes to AI developers. Whether your client contracts require you to tell anyone is a question for your own lawyer and our licensing partner, before you sign.
What about GDPR, HIPAA or client confidentiality?
It depends on your sector rules and client contracts. Ownership and access terms are reviewed with you before any scope is agreed, so bring your adviser's questions to that review.
We are a law firm. What about privilege and client confidentiality?
Settle this first, and you stay in control of it. Nothing is exported until you approve a written scope that lists every system and date range, and you can raise any matters, practice groups or clients you want left out at that review. Your state's version of ABA Model Rule 1.6, privilege and your engagement letters are the rules to bring to it, ideally with your ethics counsel in the room.
In the agreed copy, names and contact details are removed or replaced before delivery, and our licensing partner does not publish your source records or sell them as a report about your firm.
We are a CPA firm. What about tax return information?
US tax preparers will want to raise Internal Revenue Code section 7216, which deals with the use and disclosure of tax return information, together with AICPA confidentiality rules and your engagement letters. Tax return systems and client files can be raised for exclusion when you review the written scope, before anything is exported.
At the scope review you can ask to keep tax return systems and client files out, limit scope to internal operations such as firm email and practice management, and confirm how account numbers and taxpayer identifiers are handled.
Can I sell or license company data for AI training?
Yes. Established businesses in the US, UK, Canada and Australia can now sell business data for AI training by licensing a de-identified copy of their email, documents, chat and CRM records. This company data calculator shows what yours could be worth in a few seconds.
Do we give up our data?
No. You keep your original records and systems. Our licensing partner licenses an agreed copy, and the written agreement sets out exactly what that copy covers and whether any exclusivity applies.
How much work is it for my team?
It takes a few hours from your side: share the basics, review and approve the scope, then sign in to the approved systems so the export can run. No change to how you operate is needed.
How long does it take to get paid?
It generally takes about three months from the first conversation to payment. That depends on scope, rights review, contracting and the export itself, and the milestones are written into your agreement.
Can we leave things out?
The agreed scope lists the approved systems and date ranges before any export, and your team reviews it first. If there is a system or period you are not comfortable including, raise it at that stage, before you sign. Our licensing partner can tell you whether particular client material can be included.
Is the number on this page an offer?
No. It is an indicative range. Our licensing partner makes an offer only after reviewing the systems and dates in scope, years of history, record volume and quality, and ownership and access terms.
Who will we be dealing with?
Our licensing partner, a US company that runs a data partnership program for businesses and nonprofits. It licenses agreed, de-identified copies of company records for AI research and training. You see exactly who it is the moment you click through, before you share anything.
